Hi everyone,
It is Wed night. I just came back from the barn and all is well -for the most part. Godric did get out of his pen. Because he is still upset about the new buck living with what he thinks is his ladies. But it is too late for that. I told him this year that he was not going to be the only man of the barn and that I had the final say so.
He has already had his ladies for the year and that is that. But if he had his way, I think he would try and show the dairy buck (Hevargo) who is boss. So he was out of his pen tonight (only because he got his gate open and in one of the other big pens). But Hevargo was not paying any attention to him…So tomorrow I will move Godric out of the barn and back here to the house. Havargo is going home tomorrow anyway.
Then the work begins in the barn.
First some new portable fence lines up for the goats, so they can all come out in the sun and not all be together in one pasture. Then I have to set up the water tub with warm water and get the pedi supplies out and then begin. Everyone is getting their feet done and their shots for winter. It is something that needs to be done. It does not make me the most popular person in the barn, but by the time feeding time comes around, that will all change. Because I am in charge of the kitchen too. Oh it is so nice to be so loved! Even if they are just pretending so they get what they want.
So, I better go for now and get the rest of my indoor chores done. Tomorrow is another early day.
